Methodology

The life expectancies provided by this calculator are based on the ages of death of similar individuals to the demographic information entered. These demographics include the individual's gender, race and hispanic origin, and age.

An individual's life expectancy is the average remaining number of years they are expected to live. Life expectancies obtained from this calculator are based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s U.S. Life Tables. These life tables are generated from data sources on population, the population's demographics, and the ages of death of those individuals.

November 28, 2016 - 2012 life tables released.

September 22, 2015 - 2011 life tables released.
